**PRESS RELEASE** May 2008
Better Business With doom and gloom predictions of economic downturn dominating the headlines many businesses and individuals fear the worst, but a green approach can ease the pinch and inspire cost-conscious initiatives.
Love London is approaching sustainable business from all levels. There’s a groundbreaking London-wide trading system bringing a new meaning to micro-economics; high-profile discussions about the economics of sustainability and the future of sustainability objectives in an economic downturn and practical advice on how to green your business.
The good news is that most sustainability measures have an integral cost incentive - energy efficiency, waste reduction and double sided printing are all easy to adopt and offer a quick return.
Love London Director, Christopher Harris said: “Intelligent thinking and a fresh approach can reduce the impact of businesses on the environment and in a way that is easy to implement. Initiatives such as Brother’s Print Smart campaign are yet another great example of this and we are delighted to be working with Brother again.”
Phil Jones, Sales and Marketing Director for Brother, said: “Increasing efficiency and becoming more sustainable is in the interest of all London businesses. Small actions from businesses can make a big difference and Love London does a great job of educating companies in the capital as to how they can help. One of the main recommendations we are making is that offices should print in duplex – using both sides of each sheet of paper. There are a large number of duplex printers available within the small business price range, and using one of these could substantially reduce the amount of paper being wasted.”
