Land Securities

London is widely acknowledged to be one of the world’s most dynamic and progressive cities – a leading financial hub that is constantly changing and undergoing regeneration. The property industry in turn must respond to the capital’s fast pace of change, as well as its communities and visitors. Land Securities, the UK’s largest real estate investment trust, is committed to creating a better London by developing some of the capital’s most innovative mixed-use schemes through our large scale regeneration projects in Victoria, Southbank, Mid-town and the City.

Our awareness of the importance of investing in London extends beyond physical infrastructure. Land Securities’ Capital Commitment Fund aims to truly regenerate the areas in which we develop and forge long-lasting relationships within local communities in Westminster, Southwark, Islington and the City. For example, in 2006, we commissioned local Southwark artist, Ian Davenport, to create an eye catching 50m mural which now hangs under the Western Bridge on Southwark Street. This, in addition to better lighting and a thorough clean up operation, has helped turn Bankside into a new London landmark. Other projects benefiting from the Fund include the regeneration of a disused cycle track in Southwark and the creation of an amateur theatre group at the Caxton Youth Trust in Westminster.
